Hi,

I have a project which uses the exander pi 16 channels but need extra channels. Was thinking about making a custom board using all the components from the expander pi + a 32 channel IO Pi Plus expander. Which is the same as the expander pi chip (MCP23017) just two of them. Would the new custom board still work with the exapnderpi library?

Hi

Your custom board should work with the Expander Pi library.

For the MCP23017 you may want to use the IO Pi library as this will allow you to set the I2C address for each IO chip. In the expander pi library, the MCP23017 is preset to i2c address 0x20.
